Quest

The Quest Program anchors the Sherwood Forest experience. Youth attend a residential summer camp supported by continued programming during the school year. The program focus is helping kids develop the social-emotional skills and academic attitudes necessary to succeed in school and later life.

Quest begins after first grade and continues through ninth grade. Grades 1 through 5 focus on specific academic and developmental objectives. Grades 6 through 9, referred to as the Leadership Training Program, add broader focuses – including teamwork, community and envisioning a future. Learn more about the focus of each grade level as campers journey through camp.

During the summer, kids choose their own activities each day and build skills at their own pace. They participate in a mix of camp and academic experiences. Camp experiences include traditional activities like hiking, swimming and team sports. Academic elements are aimed at reducing summer learning loss, increasing a love of reading, and fostering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) interest. These include our nationally-recognized Library and Book Club, the Arthur & Helen Baer Foundation Creative & Performing Arts Program, and STEM activities.
